Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives
The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives, located in Alberta, Canada, has a variety of cultural and historical exhibits, artifact collections, and an extensive archive detailing 10,000 years of events in this Rocky Mountain region. Visitors will enjoy interesting narratives and items native to the Jasper National Park and Yellowhead corridor, a designated World Heritage site.
The museum has permanent exhibits on the fur trade, railways, early tourism and park service in the area's history, and also has temporary exhibits on display in the Showcase and Alcove Galleries, such as the Jasper Town Photo Project in 2005 and the David Thompson Bicentennial Quilt. The human and natural history of the region is detailed through the books, periodicals, manuscripts, photographs, diaries and business papers in the museum's archives, along with the 3,000 artifacts in the Collections department. Some of the items visitors can see include hand-woven woolen bathing suits, beadworkings, and wooden shovels used in 1911 on Skyline Trail.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore history when you're vacationing in Alberta.
