Two Grey Hills Arts & Jewelry in Jackson, WY is a gallery owned and operated by family members, Elfriede Jourdan and Gary Mattheis, her son. Located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this business was started in 1976 and is today one of the west's great art centers. Jackson Hole is a resort community that is close to the Grand Teton National Park, making it a great tourist area, a fact that helps make Two Grey Hills such a success.
Elfriede Jourdan moved from West Germany to the United States in 1948 and discovered she not only loved Indian art, but had a good eye for finding the most beautiful pieces. They specialize in Indian art that is hand-made and have a very successful business with a full inventory of some of the finest pieces in the world. They carry items that cannot be found anyplace else in the world such as hand-made Navajo weavings, Zapotec Indian rugs, Zuni and Hopi jewelry, Zuni fetishes and Navajo folk art. In addition to the many items they have at Two Grey Hill Arts & Jewelry in Jackson, they also carry an excellent inventory in their retail gallery.
From the moment you walk through their door, you will be astonished by the friendly and helpful atmosphere. They are so warm and friendly; you will get that feeling that you know them from somewhere. They stand behind everything they sell and will go to great lengths to satisfy you and get what you need. If they don't carry something you are looking for, they will try very hard to find it for you. They are not afraid of competition from other galleries. If they find what you are looking for at another establishment, they will tell you as well as give you directions how to get there. Some of their stone sculptures are the most beautiful work you will ever see. Many people purchase these for in their home or lawn decorations.
