Enjoy the spectacular views and unique formations of Sheep Mountain which some say looks like a sleeping Indian chief.
Located on the eastern side of Jackson, Sheep Mountain earned its name from the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep that can be seen on its cliffs and slopes. This unique rock formation in the Gros Ventre Range has been known to some as the Sleeping Indian because it resembles an Indian chief in a feather headdress, laying on his back. No matter what you think the mountain looks like or what you call it, you cannot deny the unique beauty and power that it possesses.
