Shadow Mountain Gallery in Jackson, WY

The Shadow Mountain Gallery is located in downtown Evergreen.  It is a co-op for a group of around forty artists, and provides a gallery space to display their art works, that use a range of different media.  It was founded in 1990 to promote the work of local moutantain area artists, and incrase recognition for their work through the gallery and its website.  Initially, the gallery was situated near the historic yellow barn in Conifer, Colorado.  Following a move to the Adobe Creek Artists Center in 1995, it moved to its present home in Evergreen, close to the creek, and also many restaurants and interesting stores.
Many of the artists exhibiting at the Shadow Mountain Gallery have won awards in juried competions and exhibited in state, regionala and national exhibitions.  There is a range of media represented including acrylic, oil and watercolor, collage, photography as well as hand-crafted pottery, jewelry and items in wood, glass and bronze.
There is a great variety in the styles of the artists showcased at the Gallery.  Michael Ahl's photographic pieces focus on beautiful landscapes, wildlife and flowers.  Wanda Henley, a watercolorist features portraiture, landscapes and still life.  Susan Bogard creates reverie and memory pots featuring beautiful scenes and delicate figures. Ann Bunn creates colorful collages, often of windows, doorways and mirrors with references to time, journeys and art.
The Gallery participates in the 'Last Friday Gallery Nights' where residents and visitors to Evergreen can tour local galleries, meeting the artists and enjoying light refreshments. The gallery is open daily from 10.00am-5.30pm.
