Center for the Arts: A Creative Nucleus
The Center for the Arts, located just two short blocks from Town Hall in Jackson, Wyoming, is a cultural hub that serves the community of Jackson. At one time the area was filled with separate organizations of art. It was decided in 1991 that it was more economical and beneficial to the community to house all of the organizations under one roof.
The Center for the Arts operates as a place where non-profit art organizations in the Jackson area can provide their own specific services to the community. In addition, the center includes a theater that seats 500 people, a park that is free to the public, and housing for employees and artists that are visiting. This single facility is more than 40,000 square feet and includes space for 20 art organizations.
What would an art center be if it didn't feature art exhibits? The Center for the Arts in Jackson includes a span of space that covers three levels of the facility. Four dance studios make up the Dance Center at the Center for the Arts. These studios typically are used for dance programs and theatrical shows. Many of the organizations use the space for classes and other educational services.
The Center for the Arts houses several art organizations and is also available for public use. You can rent the facility for private events, such as business meetings, receptions, concerts, and parties. The center makes the appropriate space available and assists with planning the event.
