Annual Boy Scout Antler Auction and Elkfest on Center Street in Jackson Hole, WY
Watch as over five tons of antlers are auctioned off to the highest bidder at the Boy Scout Antler Auction. The auction will be held on saturday with the Elkfest celebration taking place all weekend. This event combined along with Elkfest celebrates nature and outdoor education through different activities. Each spring thousands of Elk that winter in the area loose their antlers before the migration to summer lands. Boy Scouts collect the shed antlers and they are sold at a public auction. Antlers are sold to people from all over the world. Over 80 percent of the proceeds are donated by the Boy Scouts to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. In addition to the antler auction, a different number of activities are also featured, which focus on outdoor skills as well as ecological awareness and education. Learning about nature and the outdoors is fun experience at the Annual Boy Scout Antler Auction and Elkfest.
