Playa Linda in Ixtapa, Mexico
Playa Linda in Ixtapa, GR is the place to go if you are seeking a nice beach without all the commercial hype. It is located at the north side of the city just past another beach called Playa Quieta. It is quite a lovely setting with a beach lined with palm trees, warmth from the sun and the tangy smell of the salty ocean.
Usually Playa Linda is the departure point for the water taxis that work the area taking customers to and from Isla Ixtapa. However, now the area is developing into a place more for those who want to enjoy the beach. There are not a lot of vendors right on the beach although everything you need in regards to souvenirs, food and supplies is close by. In fact, there are several seafood restaurants in the area that offer top notch local cuisine at great prices.
There is a craft market in the area should you want to take a break from Playa Linda and hunt for souvenirs. Nearby is also a marshy mangrove with a nature preserve where you can see the local wildlife like turtles, crocodiles, iguanas and more. And speaking of wildlife, you could have a memorable time at Playa Linda by renting horses to ride along the beach as well as some trails nearby.
Of course, the swimming is good here at Playa Linda as well as home to some great surfing spots such as the one near the northern area of the beach where a river empties into the ocean. All in all, you can do pretty much what you could do at any other beach, only at Playa Linda, you won't be bothered by the larger touristy crowds.
