Paseo del Pescador in Ixtapa, GR is a beach that runs along Municipal Beach in Zihuatanejo. Although quite different than Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo is a sister city of Ixtapa. Paseo del Pescador is also known as Fisherman's Walk. On Fisherman's Walk or Paseo del Pescador, you watch the local fisherman as they try to get their catch of the day or you can plan your own fishing trip. This completely tree-lined walkway is loaded with seafood restaurants and other interesting attractions and is a seafood-lovers delight.
One of the popular restaurants on Paseo del Pescador is the Canaima Restaurant, which has been open since 1971. In addition to their full bar, they sell excellent Mexican food and seafood. Daniel's Restaurant is another popular restaurant that's next to the basketball court and town plaza. Many of the town's cultural community activities take place here. Some other excellent restaurants you can find on Paseo del Pescador are El Amate, Los Amates, El Arbolito, Los Almendros, El Chiquilique Playero and El Consteno.
The Almacen Footbridge, although now replaced by a new structure, is located on the end of Paseo del Pescador in back of the Naval Barracks. This bridge was originally built as a way to get to the central district from the Bario Almacen or fron La Noria. Although it was built for transportation and convenience, it has become an attraction.
Another attraction along the Paseo del Pescador is the Zihuatanejo Museum, located near the pier. Any interest you may have in the area you can learn about in this museum. You'll find some interesting paintings, sculptures and archeological artifacts.
