Las Gatas in Ixtapa, Mexico

When visiting Ixtapa, you should make a point of taking one day away from your traditional beach time in order to try a new and different beach, the beach at Las Gatas. You will need to take a water taxi in order to get there and plan to spend the day enjoying the beaches, the great sun, snorkeling, beautiful water, and outstanding food on the island. You will definitely want to leave early and make plans to spend the entire day enjoying the great food and wonderful atmosphere at Las Gatas.

You will find that many travel agents, tour groups, and hotel tours will offer this trip for a sizable commission. However if you simply make your way to the pier in Zihuatenejo early in the morning you can purchase tickets for the water taxi to Las Gatas for a very small price, particularly when compared to those of the tour groups.  You should also be sure to keep your return ticket in a safe location, as you will need it in order to get off the island in the evening.

When making your plans for visiting Ixtapa a trip to Las Gatas should definitely be very near the top of your list of exciting things to do and see if not at the very top of your list.
