Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Country Star Museum near Indianapolis, IN is an attraction that any bluegrass lover will want to see when in the area. The entry to the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Museum consists of a "walkway of stars". Hollywood bronze stars are there for many of the greatest bluegrass musicians such as Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Loretta Lynn and more. The stars that are mentioned are the ones that the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, felt were worthy of being mentioned.

Known as the "father of bluegrass", Bill Monroe is the musician that is credited with developing bluegrass music. The name "bluegrass" comes from his band, which was called Blue Grass Boys. Monroe named his band after Kentucky, his home state. He was a successful musician performing as a composer, singer, instrumentalist and bandleader for 60 years and definitely earned his spot in the Hall of Fame. Bill's induction into the Nashville Hall of Fame came in 1970 and it was one of many of this awards.
