Allen's Landing in Houston, Texas is quickly becoming the revitalized park of choice for many visitors.
The city acquired the area back in 1966 as an effort to preserve the area was Houston was claimed back in 1836. Many describe the area as the city's very own "Plymouth Rock".
The port at the confluence of the White Oak and Buffalo bayous became the city's first. Redevelopment of the area was partially completed, and progress continues to add more pedestrian walkways and art.
Right around 30 teams will compete against one another in a full on dragon boat race, exhibit booths will share insight into the history of dragon boat racing, live entertainment will keep things light and cultural cuisine will keep the stomach at ease.
