South Beach Marina Village on Hilton Head Island is again wonderful tourist sight in Sea Pines. It is like a small town or community with all the attractions and amenities it needs to satisfy all the tourists and visitors on vacation.
A better name for the South Beach Marina Village would be a tourist's shopping mall. Every tourist should really make it a point to stop her for some unique and interesting souvenirs. You'll find for your shopping pleasure, delightful shops like the Bluewater Tackle Shop, the General Store, A Shore Thing, Island Girl and Jake's Cargo.
For some really great food and lore, you have to try the Salty Dog Café and T-shirt factory. The legend behind this café tells about a fisherman, John Braddocks, and his dog Jake. John and Jake went fishing one day and got caught in a bad wind storm on the lake. Jake and John were both thrown overboard. Although, John was ready to give up, the legend has it that Jake swam west for 3 days with John holding onto his collar. Jake, miraculously, managed to find his way back to their home port. The locals there built The Salty Dog Café in his honor as a gathering place. The place is still a popular hangout today-with portraits of Jake on the wall, of course. It has a very unique appearance with many parts built out of parts of the wreck that almost destroyed both Jake and John.
Some activities South Beach Marina Village has to offer are kayaking, jet skiing, boat rental, tours, sailing and parasailing.
