The Linda Hartough Gallery, located close to the Harbour Town Golf Links, brings together the worlds of golf and art. Linda Hartough is recognised as one of the leading golf artists and she has painted many of the many renowned courses in the US, Britain, and Ireland. She has had commissions from the US Golf Association, and the Golf Club of St Andrews to paint the official pictures for the US and British Open Championships. Her original oil paintings are sought after by golf enthusiasts, and are in the possession of prestigious clubs and past world-class golfers.
Her career began by painting horses, portraits and landscapes until she was commissioned, in 1984 , to paint the 13th Hole at Augusta National. In 1989 Linda Hartough was commissioned by the US Golf Association to produce a series of paintings of US Open Championship Golf Courses.
In the early years she learned about the game and its history from a Scottish golf artist. She now focuses solely on golf course art and carries out detailed preparation work before beginning a new painting. She spends over a week at each course, noting its memorable views and landscapes, and takes hundreds of photographs at different times of day.
The Gallery has a display of her orginal masterworks in oil. If one of these is beyond your budget the Gallery features many limited edition prints, artists proofs and textured canvasses. There are also gifts such as jigsaw puzzles, placemats, cards and posters. The Gallery also exhibits work by Diane Selby, another golf artist, who has been tutored by Linda Hartough.
