Driessen Beach Park: One of Hilton Head Island's Finest Treasures
With the name Hilton Head Island, it's very easy to guess what there is to do in this town that is considered to be the second largest island located on the eastern coastline of the U.S. Hilton Head Island spans 12 miles and offers visitors and residents several beaches of which to enjoy. Among these popular beaches is Driessen Beach Park.
What is there to do at Driessen Beach Park? Plenty. The park is loaded with activities for every family member. Children can play at the playground. There are ample barbeque grills and gazebos for a small or large picnic—all located close to the beach area. Spanning 400 feet both north and south, there is plenty of beach area for everyone to enjoy. Common beach activities include sun bathing, cycling, running and jogging, and water sports. There is an incredible marine life at Driessen Beach Park and the surrounding area. Fishing is also a popular activity with residents and visitors of the park.
The beach at Driessen Beach Park is considered a public beach and is generally available for use during the months of April through September. During this time there are lifeguards on duty, plenty of showers and machines offering snacks.
Parking is always a concern with beach goers. At Driessen Beach Park there are more than 200 parking spaces. Some of the parking spaces are reserved for people who have a special parking pass (usually residents of the area).
