One of the most popular beaches in Hilton Head Island, Coligny Beach is packed with loads of activities which makes it the perfect place to take the family for a fun filled day.
There's plenty to do for everyone at the beach. The fine, hard sand is great for walking or biking along the waves while the volleyball courts provide great recreation. You can even rent sun umbrellas from the life guards to catch a bit of sun or even avail of the paddle boats and water bikes to indulge in some action in the water. The Coligny Beach also boasts of the island's only beach bar named the Tiki Hut where you can sip on an ice-cold beer or a terrific cocktail.
The beach also offers easy access to a number of restaurants and plazas with the conveniently located Beach Market and the Coligny Plaza Shopping Center. The beach is also partially covered with a wheelchair mat to make the shoreline more accessible. You can also avail of the water fountains, the well maintained restrooms, showers and water fountains that dot the beach.
You will find plenty of parking here at the town parking lot, which is located right behind the Smokehouse restaurant. Parking is charged at $4 for the day. You can even find a spot on Coligny Circle if you arrive early.
The only downside to this otherwise excellent beach is that it does not afford visitors any privacy. Visit the Coligny Beach for a typical day at the beach but try to avoid weekends and other holidays if you're looking to stay away from the crowds.
