Whenever you are traveling through Pennsylvania then take a detour to see Hunters Valley Winery near Hershey, P.A. The winery is a family business and our vineyards overlook the beauty of the Susquehanna River. The company produces around eighteen thousand bottles of wine every year. We encourage visitors to bring a picnic and enjoy the sight of our vines while they drink its fruit. Meet our organiser and take one of our tours; enjoy a free tasting and have your wine handpicked for you. All our wine is fermented, bottled and sold on site. You can choose from a number of different wines depending on your taste, there is a Reisling, a good Chardonnay and a chillable semi-sweet red that we call Susquehanna Crossing, to name but a few. If your taste runs to a drier wine then you should taste our Cabernet Franc, made from the same type of grape that originates in the French Bordeaux region.
If you visit at the start of summer or in the fall then you can enjoy our twice yearly open house and craft fair. There are tents and stalls where you can watch people engage in jewellery making, basket making and needlecraft, and then buy their goods. In the afternoons between two and four you can join the crowd and enjoy the traditional music. There will be foodstalls selling sandwiches and hearty soups so you won't go hungry.
Want to take home a memento of your trip? Then visit our gift shop where you will be able to get custom made baskets of our wine and wine related gifts.
