City Island Park near Hershey, PA is a wonderful place to spend the entire day while you're vacationing in or near Hershey. Located in Harrisburg, this is a very family-oriented park that will have enough of a variety that any age group will have a great time here.
"Take me out to the ballgame" never had more meaning then when you are going to Riverside Stadium to watch the Harrisburg Senators play ball or just to check out their ball field. The Senators are the only minor league baseball team in Pennsylvania. You can see their home games at 6:35 p.m. or a Sunday game at 1:05 p.m. They have special discount prices for groups.
Everyone gets hungry watching a baseball game. Browse on over to one of the seven concession stands they have open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. you'll eat the best roast beef or fish sandwiches you've ever eaten. Or just grab some French fries and a glass of lemonade. You can always come back for a bigger variety after the game when you have more time.
If you'd prefer to just be by the water, you can go swimming in their beautiful beach or take a cruise down the Susquehanna on their paddlewheel riverboat called the Pride of Susquehanna. The cruises offer you a lot of sightseeing for the 45 minutes you're on the cruise.
The Skyline Sports Complex has some of the nicest volleyball courts as well as fields for football, soccer and softball.
Their gift shop has a little bit of everything from toys for the kids to neat little souvenirs to take home.
