Built in the mid 1950's the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course is an 18 hole, regulation length golf course in Carlisle, which is now known as one o the most prominent courses in the Cumberland Valley.
The course consists of 4 sets of tee boxes which can be used by golfers of varying levels of skill. The Par 72 course also measures more than 6,300 yards and is well maintained with a state of the art irrigation system. Enthusiasts can also avail of the practice facility which features a driving range, a practice putting green and a green with a bunker. Green fees at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course are charged at around $28 to $30. The course also features a rating of 69.3 and the slope rating is at 113. The course is known as one offering a moderate level of difficulty to golfers and is also a reasonably high scoring course. Its spruce tree-lined green is also renowned as one of the most scenic in the region. The course which is managed by the Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation Command has acclaimed golfer Terry Myers as the Golf Professional.
You can also pause to grab a bite at the 19th Hole Snack Bar which offers a concise menu of hot and cold sandwiches with a couple of light soups and salads. You can visit the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course from April through November between 10 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
