Getting Around Hershey, Pennsylvania: Travel and Transportation Information

The town of Hershey is conveniently located close to most of the major metropolitan areas in the Northeast, making it the perfect vacation destination. Pennsylvania's interstate highway exits are numbered on a mileage-based system, making getting around the area simple.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

  • If you're driving in from the Baltimore area, take I-83 North towards York and Harrisburg to 322 East. Then follow 322 East to the town of Hershey.
  • If you're coming in from the New York City Area, take I-78 West to I-81 South. Take exit 77 and follow Route 39 East directly into Hershey.
  • From Central New Jersey take I-95 South to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and go West to exit 266. Turn left onto 72 North and follow that to 322 West. Then take 322 West into Hershey.
  • From Pittsburgh, PA take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) East to exit 247. Then take I-283 North to exit 3/322 East. Follow 322 East directly into Hershey.

HARRISBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The town of Hershey is serviced by the Harrisburg International Airport. The airport features seven major commercial carriers that operate over 120 flights every day. The airport features on-site restaurants and lounge service. Onsite car rental is available from Avis, Hertz, National and Thrifty. If you need taxi service when you arrive at the airport, walk to the customer service desk and there will be a ready taxi awaiting you.

HARRISBURG AMTRAK TRAIN STATION

The Harrisburg Train Station is located just fifteen minutes from downtown Hershey. The station is serviced by Amtrak and seven trains arrive daily. For exact rate and fare information, contact Amtrak or go to their website.
