Heritage Hill Living History Museum in Green Bay, WI is a great tourist attraction for those that are interested in the history of Wisconsin or just interested in history in general. Located on Webster Avenue in Green Bay, the Museum is open from May 23 until September 7 each year.
Better plan at least an entire day to look around the museum, as you'll get the chance to see over 200 years of history from Northeastern Wisconsin. To make it easier to navigate to each individual's interests, the museum is divided into four sections, with each one being a different time spanning from 1672 to 1905. You can also look at 25 original but reconstructed buildings. Some of the buildings you will see are the Blacksmith shop, Baird Law office, the library, Franklin Hose Company, Allouez Town Hall, Depere News Office, the East Side Moravian Church and many more pieces of history depending on the time span you are viewing.
The museum is located on Heritage Hill Park, where you will see many other interesting buildings such as the original cheese factory, cotton house or Fort Howard School. You'll love looking at a fur trader's cabin as a part of the past.
Heritage Hill Living History has many events that interest the public. One such event is Laura Ingalls Wilder Day, where they have look alike contests where you dress up like a character in one of Laura's books.
School of the Soldier will teach you all about the history of your military in the past as well as the present. You will learn what it was like to train at Fort Howard.
The Museum has different events in each season of the year as well as having weddings on the grounds. This is a very interesting and memorable area for tourists to view.
