The National Gallery of Art, located on the National Mall between 3rd and 7th streets, features the finest collections of art in the world.
Each exhibit features awesome achievements in sculpture, painting, decorative arts, and works on paper, dating all the way back to the Middle Ages.
Next to The National Gallery of Art is the National Gallery Sculpture Garden. This is an amazing garden filled with some of the best and biggest sculptures from the gallery. With 17 different works from the Gallery's collection along with canopy trees, flowering trees, shrubs, and beautiful perennials, The Sculpture Garden was developed to create a year round exhibit for the public to enjoy as well as creating a peaceful place to rest and reflect. In the center of the garden, there is a beautiful fountain that serves a s an ice rink in the winter, and a great place to relax in the summer. There are six different entrances into the garden, all handicap accessible, and the garden is surrounded by decorative metal fencing and marble piers designed to portray the history of the area. The Pavilion Café, located in the garden, offers great food and service, year round, along with indoor seating.
