The church's steeple, at 196-feet high is to this day a visible landmark from many parts of the city. George Washington, Francis Hopkinson, Robert Morris, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Betsy Ross all worshipped here. George Washington kept a family pew in this church and today this pew has been reserved in its original place in his honor. The building has been restored to its original Georgian style and features authentic Palladian window and tablets, hand lettered by colonial James Wren.
