Bridgeville is located southeast of Monticello, New York amongst the Catskill Mountains. Because it is so small and not incorporated, they don't even have a post office and share a zip code with a neighboring town. Never the less, Bridgeville is a fun town to visit, has had many interested facts in its history and makes a great vacation spot. Bridgeville is home to the Neversink River, which being great for fly-fishing, is the perfect fishing hideaway for your vacation.
Bridgeville has many interesting facts in its history. Their main inhabitants were members of two Delaware tribes, the Lene Lenape and the Algonquin. The first covered bridge to be built in the state of New York was in Bridgeville, which purpose was to help the Newburgh and Cochecton Turnpike. Bridgeville is also a town that has many water meters or flow targets, which are used by the New York State Environmental Dept to monitor water levels and temperatures as well as the fish habitat by the Neversink Dam.
