Celebrate our nation's Independence Day at the nation's capital with fireworks, a parade, concerts, and more. Starting at noon, the festivities for this event will last all evening.
Nearly 500,000 people have shown up each year for the past 50 years to celebrate Fourth of July at the capital building.
A Fourth of July parade kicks of the celebration, starting around noon on Constitution Avenue. Over 100 units will march down the street in pride. Following the parade, concerts from all kinds of music will fill the afternoon and evening until it's time for the fireworks. At about 20 minutes after 9 PM the fireworks light up the sky, streaking with color and noise. Held over the Washington Monument grounds, the fireworks show lasts about 30 minutes.
