DC Independent Film Festival in Washington, DC
Upon viewing the submitted works, awards are given out. The awards are given in each category and include the World Cinema Award, Grand Jury Award, Audience Award, and the DC Filmmaker Award. The DC Independent film festival also hosts several seminars which allow filmmakers to learn more about the industry. A film market and trade show also gives the filmmakers the opportunity to find distribution for their film. Independent films are honored a number of ways by the DC Independent film festival. Through the exposure and celebration, independent films are given a change to shine.
