Brew at the Zoo at The National Zoo in Washington, DC

Every year, the National Zoo in Washington, DC holds a beer-tasting benefit event that raises money to support the zoo and its educational programs. "Brew at the Zoo" is sponsored by the Friends of the National Zoo Young Professionals group, which consists of DC-area residents in their 20s and 30s who are dedicated to supporting one of the nation's most celebrated zoos. At this annual event, over 20 local microbreweries set up shop so attendees can sample their many beers. Ticket prices include the opportunity to taste any and all beers at the event, a commemorative beer mug, and free musical entertainment by a local rock band. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase as well.

This event is held annually in August and ticket prices vary for members and non-members of the zoo. Discounted tickets are available for sober drivers who attend the event with friends. This is an adults-only, 21+ event; children will not be admitted. VIP tickets are also available for a higher price - these include access to a VIP area with private bar and hors d'oeuvres platters, a viewing of special animal exhibits at the zoo, and a Brew at the Zoo t-shirt. Group sponsorship packages are also available for companies who want to attend the event as a group.
