Bourbon tasting at Acadiana Restaurant in Washington, DC

From time to time, Acadiana Restaurant in the heart of Washington, DC holds a special bourbon tasting event, where attendees can try various bourbons from Kentucky and Tennessee. At these events, the wine and beverage director of the restaurant chooses approximately 10 bourbons, many of them from boutique distilleries, for visitors to sample. Almost all of these spirits come from the southern US, many of them from the famed Bluegrass Highway bourbon region of Kentucky. The event also includes a small-plates style lunch or dinner and tickets start around $75. These bourbon tasting events happen at various times during the year, so please contact the restaurant to see when their next one is.

Acadiana is the perfect setting for a down-home bourbon tasting, as it has fast become one of DC's premier destinations for Southern cuisine. The restaurant is focused on the cuisine of the Gulf region of Louisiana, home of crawfish, po'boy sandwiches and gumbo. Acadiana opened in 2005 and has received acclaim over the years for its authentic seafood dishes, including etouffees, remoulades, and bisques. And the elegant setting of the restaurant sets it apart from the "fish shack" feel of many authentic Southern eateries.
