Annual Campagna Center's Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend at Old Town Alexandria near Washington, DC
The Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend is when hundreds of Scottish clansmen walk the streets and parade with their bagpipes throughout the city of Old Town Alexandria. This is one the traditional favorites of the Alexandria community. There are plenty to do for all ages such as children tea parties, a tour of the historic homes, Celtic concerts and a Christmas Marketplace. This is known to be one of the largest fund raiser activities that help support children and families. The program will help sponsor head start, retired volunteer programs, and the Learning Center Project. The Scottish Christmas Walk Parade is a traditional parade where you will see the pipe and drum band, Scottish dancers, Scottie dog group, and everyone's favorite, Santa clause. This event of course is free to all the public. So if you are ever in the beautiful town of Alexandria on Christmas, you may to pay this Scottish Christmas walk a visit.
