Give your family a break from the historical and cultural sights and sounds in Washington, DC for a fun break at Six Flags America. This popular theme park gives your family thrills, spills, shows, and more, designed to entertain all ages. Six Flags America in Washington, DC is the perfect spot to create great family memories at the nation's capital.

Six Flags America gives the whole family hours of fun on the many thrill rides. On the Batwing, shoot across an extended track at 50 miles per hour or try out Superman to experience the thrill of shooting straight up twenty stories at an amazing speed of 75 miles per hour. On Two-Face, you will take an inverted loop at 72 miles per hour followed by four upside down loops and a corkscrew, only to repeat the whole thing backwards.

Pint-sized visitors will have plenty of thrills, too. Take a ride on the Ferris wheel or have some fun bumping around in the bumper cars. There's no ride like the Flying Carousel swing ride at your playground back home! Take a test drive on one of the classic cars with Great Race Antique Cars. Altogether the park offers over fifty thrill rides for all ages.

On hot days, head over to Six Flags America's water park, Hurricane Harbor. Here, you can cool off in an exciting way with plenty of water slides, tube chutes, inner tube rapids rides, themed sprinkler areas for the little ones, a lazy river, and more. This is a water park that will top all of your previous water park experiences!

When you aren't having a blast on the many thrill and water rides, spend some time taking in a show or two. Just some of the family-friendly shows include A Pirate's Tale, Looney Tunes Talent Show, the Justice League Superheroes Show, Mr. Six Dance Party Show, and more. Special concerts include the Plain White T's on July 5, Raven-Symone on July 8, Drake Bell on July 14, Metro Station on August 6, Flo Rida on August 12, and so many more.

You will work up quite an appetite having so much fun at Six Flags America, but you'll have plenty of dining options to choose from. On-site, you will find Johnny Rockets, Ben and Jerry's, Aunt Annie's, Hurricane Hot Dog, Panda Express, and so many more.

During the summer months, the park is open from 10:30am until 8 or 9pm daily. After August 23, the park is open on select weekends only until October 31. Hurricane Harbor is not open after September 7. Please check the park for weekend hours, as they vary.
