- Jefferson Memorial
- The Jefferson memorial is located on the South side of the Tidal Basin. The memorial was dedicated in 1943, on the 200th anniversary of this historical figure's birthday. This memorial, dedicated to the third U.S. President, features a nineteen-foot bronze statue at its center and displays panels inscribed with the writings of Thomas Jefferson.

- FDR Memorial
- National Mall.
- The National Mall is home to the Tidal Basin, 2,000 American elms, 3,000 Japanese cherry trees, 35 ornamental pools and fountains, 170 flower beds, and a number of museums and monuments. The Tidal Basin is a man-made lake with shaded paths that make it the perfect outdoor oasis for a daytime outing.

- Washington Monument & Lincoln Memorial
- Also located on the National Mall, you'll find two monuments to two of our greatest presidents. The Washington Monument is the largest masonry structure in the world, and raises over 550 feet into the air. Construction of the monument began in 1848 and was completed in 1884. The Lincoln Memorial is another one of the awe-inspiring monuments that can be found at the National Mall. Built to resemble a Greek temple, there are 36 columns, one for each of the States existing at the time of Lincoln's death.

- Federal Triangle
- Located just north of the National Mall, the Federal Triangle stretches from the Capitol Building to the White House. The Triangle is home to the FBI Building, the Hoover Building, the National Archives and the Department of Justice. Located nearby many of the historical attractions, dining and shopping venues, this is the perfect place to take a daytime stroll.

- Tomb of the Unknowns
- Located in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, the Tomb of the Unknowns is where the bodies of unknown soldiers from American wars have been laid to rest. One of the most popular of tourist attractions in the area, the tomb reads "Here Rests In Honored Glory An American Soldier Known But To God".

- US Navy Memorial
- Located on Pennsylvania Avenue, the centerpiece of this memorial is a 100-foot granite map of the world. The memorial is home to the wreath laying ceremonies that honor the men and women who have given their lives in the line of duty.

- Korean War Veterans Memorial
- This memorial features life-size statues of men on patrol representing the navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army working together and honors the 54,246 soldiers who lost their lives fighting in the Korean War.

- Vietnam Veterans Memorial
- Sometimes referred to as "The Wall," this memorial actually consists of three contributing components; the Three Servicemen Statue, the Wall of names and the Vietnam Women's Memorial. The memorial is not just a memorial to the war, but is a memorial to honor the men and women, both living and passed on, that fought in the war.

- Marine Corps War Memorial
- The soldiers raising the flag, the most famous image of World War II and the image that produces the highest emotion in the hearts of Americans everywhere - this is the basis for the statue of The Marine Corps War Memorial. Though the image the memorial is based on is relevant to World War II, the memorial is in honor of all of the men and women in the Marine Corps who have served this country since 1775.

ATTRACTIONS IN WASHINGTON, DC
- White House Visitor's Center
- You'll definitely want to stop by the White House Visitor's Center, located in the north end of the Department of Commerce Building. There are six exhibits regarding the White House. These exhibits are First Families, Symbols and Images, White House Interiors, Ceremonies and Celebrations, White House Architecture, and Working White House. There are other exhibits that change frequently throughout the year.
- You'll stop at the White House Visitors Center on the DC Interior Buildings Tour. Most other tours offer a motorcoach view of the White House.
- Petersen House
- Visit the Peterson House, where Abraham Lincoln died. Lincoln was shot at the Ford Theatre and when doctors realized he was dying, they moved him to the boarding house across the street. The boarding house was owned by William and Anna Petersen. Walk through the rooms and see furnishings original to the period of the 1800s.

- Ford's Theatre
- Visit the historical Ford's Theatre, where Abraham Lincoln was shot in 1865. Today, the theatre is a working theatre that produces musicals and plays. Enjoy a play and see the actual box that our former President sat in.

- American History Museum
- Located on the National Mall, this museum displays three floors of exhibits pertaining to American history. This is a perfect place for your family to learn about the roots of this great country. - When visiting the area, you absolutely have to stop by Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. The theme park has been the recipient of many awards and when you visit, you'll see why.
