IMAX Theaters in Washington, DCAt the National Air and Space Museum, you can learn more about the solar system and far beyond by taking in a movie at the Einstein Planetarium IMAX. The Einstein Planetarium IMAX offers educational movies on such topics as the sun, cosmic collisions, black holes, and more. These educational movies vary in length, but generally between twenty and forty minutes. The IMAX also runs Hollywood feature presentations from time to time such as Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. The Johnson IMAX at the National Museum of Natural History takes you on various journeys to explore the little known areas of the world, such as to the depths of the ocean, the peaks of mountain tops, and everything in between. These three-dimensional movies also put you up-close with wild animals for a memorable movie experience, including everything from dinosaurs to aquatic life. These educational movies run from twenty to forty minutes. The Johnson IMAX also hosts family-friendly Hollywood hits occasionally. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center features exhibits and displays covering aviation and space. The Hazy Center IMAX features three-dimensional films that take you through air and space, such as Fighter Pilot, the Magic of Flight, and Blue Planet. These movies run from about 39 to 45 minutes in length. Family-friendly Hollywood flicks such as Transformers are also shown here. Movies playing at the Lockheed Martin IMAX at the National Air and Space Museum take you on an educational journey through air and space, giving you experiencing such as walking on the moon and flying high above the Earth. These movies run from twenty to forty-five minutes. As with the other IMAX theaters in Washington DC, the Lockheed Martin IMAX also runs select Hollywood films from time to time. You and your family will love learning more about the world around you with the uniquely exciting educational experience of a movie at any of the IMAX theaters in the Washington DC area. |

Johnson IMAX at the National Museum of Natural History
We saw the The Deap Blue - 3D. Really enjoyable. The movie was great and the 3D effects were even better. We really recommend this show
