Pack a Picnic for a day in the Mt. Rushmore area, SDIf you want to eat a meal over looking, or actually looking up at the great Mount Rushmore Monument, you should pack a picnic! What a better way to enjoy your day seeing the famous sights in South Dakota, than a picnic lunch with the family. The kids will love it! There are several picnic areas in the Black Hills and the Badlands that are wonderfully peaceful spots with great veiws for you to use and enjoy. Here are few of them: Grizzly Bear Picnic Ground Located just a half mile away from the monument! Iron Mountain Picnic This one is near the Norbeck Memorial Overlook Willow Creek Horse Camp This one you can stop and spread your blanket over the forest floor. That sounds fun! Big foot Picnic Ground This is in the Badlands National Park near the Journey to Wounded Knee Overlook. It has very nice scenic views of the park.
