The beautifully restored Adams House presents a sophisticated piece of Deadwood history. The Adams House was built by Harris and Anna Franklin in 1892 and was then bought by Deadwood businessman and mayor W.E. Adams and his wife in 1920. The Adamses lived in this house until 1936, two years after W.E. died. From 1987 until 1992, this house functioned as a bed and breakfast, and today, the house is open to the public by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission and the
Adams Museum.
With several antiques and artifacts, this Queen Anne style house is as elegant and exquisite as when it was first built. You can take a tour of the two story house, where you'll see the house just as it would have been through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
