Holiday Parade of Lights at Corn Palace Mitchell, SD

Main Street Mitchell kicks off the winter holiday season with an enchanted Christmas evening of twinkling lights, Santa and Mrs. Claus, elves, snowmen and more. The Holiday Parade of Lights presents a parade, music of the season and favorite holiday edibles from the Corn Palace. Guests are encouraged to bring their 'nice' list to share with Santa.

Located two hours from Mount Rushmore in Mitchell, the Corn Palace was built to encourage settlement in South Dakota. It now operates as a venue for exhibits, sporting events, concerts and other celebrations, including the annual Corn Palace Festival, Polka Festival, and Stampede Rodeo.

Each year during the Corn Palace Festival, local artists create giant murals crafted from corn, grasses and grains native to the state, with an original theme chosen annually. The week following, the Corn Palace is transformed into the World's Largest Bird Feeder, a treat for the local area squirrels and birds.
