Adams House in
Deadwood, South Dakota will host a three session hardanger embroidery workshop which starts September 15th. This event is open to anyone who would like to learn this interesting form of handwork. In the early 20th century, known as Norwegian drawn work, Hardanger Embroidery takes its name from a town on the southwestern coast of Norway. The needlework was originally used for festive folk costumes. Now, popular uses for this form of handwork are as decoration for tablecloths, napkins, towels, bedspreads, pillows, and curtains.
