Great Black Hills Duck Race, Rapid City, SD
Sacrifice your rubber duckie for an excellent cause at the annual Great Black Hills Duck Race, an annual fund-raising event where proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network. Well, it's not actually a sacrifice, but on July 30, about 18,000 rubber ducks will plummet from the bridge on West Main Street, and race to the finish at Memorial Park, about 1.5 miles away.
Prizes will be awarded to the top winners, and each duck costs $5. A purchase of five ducks gives you a free t-shirt. This event offers free admission, and is handicap accessible.
