With cattle drives a part of the daily routine twice a day down the streets, you will feel as if you have traveled back in time to the day of real cowboys and old down home polite charm.
The entire district has been renovated and much of the integrity of the original stockyards has been kept intact as seen with the use of the original bricks as well as the wooden corrals that hemmed in the cattle. There are often re-enactments of the day with men and women in period costume dressed up as people of the Old West like cowboys, cattlemen, horse traders, lawmen and more.
They have rodeos each week which just add to the whole Old West ambience. The entertainment and shops just spark with atmosphere and you can find all sorts of Texas goodies too. There are honest to goodness saloons where you can quench your thirst and some great restaurants for down home cooking and the best barbecue around.
