Located in Mesquite, the Opal Lawrence Historical Park offers visitors a look at historic Texas through meticulously restored homes and barns.
On the grounds of the Opal Lawrence Historical Park is a 4,000 square-foot farmhouse and large livestock barn, both of which are registered historical sites.
The home itself was built during the late 1800's, and has been lived in by the same family up until the 1980's- at the death of the last remaining member it was donated to the city of Mesquite. It contains period furnishings and decoration to help guests step into the past.
This site has a fascinating history to it, and should appeal to visitors of any age.
