Anyone who loves country music (really, anyone who loves good music) will probably want to make Grapevine, Texas a vacation destination sometime soon.Not only is the downtown portion of this community listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but this is the site of one of the finest country music shows anywhere.
The Grapevine Opry, a presentation of Yellow Rose Productions, has a country music showcase every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The management also arranges themed shows each month and a gospel night on the fourth Friday of each month. The admission price of $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under will open the door to entertainment that is always worth much more.
Walk through the doors of The Palace Theatre, home of the Grapevine Opry, and you may hear such leading lights of country music as The Judds, Willie Nelson or Jeanie Pruitt. The 500-seat auditorium is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the talent of these and other country music legends. In addition, the venue is known for having one of the best house bands anywhere.
Since the community of Grapevine is at the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, it is convenient for vacation travellers and visitors to the Big "D." The historic main street of Grapevine also offers great restaurants, shops and a variety of wine-tasting experiences.
