Located at County Road in Glen Rose, Texas, the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center dedicates itself to spreading awareness about, and respect for, the plant and animal kingdom, while also striving to preserve endangered species through their activities and public awareness programs.
Formerly known as the Waterfall Ranch, the Center is now, one of the most progressive institutions of its ilk. Spread over 1800 acres, the Center is home to a vivid array of birds and animals, which include several rare species of antelope, deer, Oryx, rhinos and zebras. You can also view magnificent ostriches, Prairie chickens and even the graceful gazelle, juxtaposed against the enamoring beauty of the Texan wilderness.
The Center also conducts a number of educational programs for children like day camps which combine the thrill of outdoor adventure with an intimate one-on-one learning experience. What's more, you can even learn about little-known aspects of nocturnal animals through the immensely popular Discovery after Dark tour, or let your little ones don detective hats as they solve mysteries in the outdoors by matching plant and animal clues.
The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center conducts guided tours via prior appointment, where you can view the treasure trove of plant and animal life that is house here via an open-air tour vehicle. The tour is also scheduled to accommodate a delicious meal at the Overlook Café, where you can dine on seasonal delicacies, surrounded by the splendid Chalk Mountain countryside.

The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is open to visitors from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, all through the week in the months between October and February and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in March. Admission is priced at about $16 per person, with special discounts for children and seniors.
