As two of the teams that form the NFC East, the Cowboys and Redskins are bitter rivals that should provide those in the Dallas area with an entertaining, energetic game of football. The Redskins made a deep run into the playoffs last year, and have the same core intact to make that run again; even bulking the team with the addition of receiver Antwaan Randle El.
And while the Cowboys failed to make the playoffs last year, they've added a receiver to the mix that could easily change the picture for 2006. Although extremely volatile, Terrell Owens is equally as talented, and may possibly make a bigger impact to his team than any other single player in the NFL. Sometimes that impact is for good, sometimes not. But either way, the flames of this rivalry will look to burn bright on September 17th.
