Annual Red Dirt Roundup at Stockyard Station Trading Post in Fort Worth, TX

Texas alternative country band Cross Canadian Ragweed (CCR) returns to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards for the Red Dirt Roundup. The annual concert features alternative country music, a strain known as red dirt, which has been compared to the Texas equivalent of Seattle's grunge rock scene.

More frequently heard on non-traditional radio stations, Cross Canadian Ragweed has won a fervent following of fans through touring and on alternative venues like satellite radio stations. They've opened for well-known country artists Dierks Bentley and Gary Allen.

An estimated 25,000 fans get ten hours of music, with a line-up of artists, like Robert Earl Keen and Mickey and the Motorcars. Concession booths will be set up around the concert, and outside food and drink are not permitted.

Fans who seek dining options outside the concert event will be permitted to reenter. The area provides many eating options, including the nearby Billy Bob's Texas. The barbecue is good, and the atmosphere is cold, allowing visitors to cool down. The Stockyards is home to the World Famous Cattlemen's Steakhouse and more.

After the show, Exchange Street hosts shops and historic sites for browsing.

Fans are encouraged to come early, to stake out the best seating.
