Stockyards and Cowtown Coliseum

  • Begin your vacation with a trip to the past as you explore the Stockyards area of Fort Worth. Be sure to go to the Stockyards Championship Rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum, where you'll see thrills and spills in bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, tiedown and breakaway roping and barrel racing.
  •  This Coliseum, built in 1908, is a historic cornerstone site in Fort Worth, now outfitted with air conditioning and a heating system, as well as light and sound effects to enhance the modern rodeo.
  • Kids will especially enjoy a chance to scramble on the rodeo floor in calf & mutton busting.
  • Also featured at the Stockyards are the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Cattle Raiser's Museum, Stockyards Station and even the Stockyards Wedding Chapel!

After a dusty day of boots and spurs, modern-day cowboys and cowgirls will find a welcome rest at the Comfort Inn East, just minutes from the Stockyards.
