The
Grand Canyon National Park is probably one of the most popular tourist sites for vacationers traveling out west. It's a sight that almost every tourist talks about and has photos of when they return home from vacation.
The Grand Canyon, which is over 6 million years old, is huge with the crevice being a mile deep and over 275 miles long. It's considered as one of the "seven wonders of the world", with all its plateaus, mesas and buttes that make it one of the most popular national parks. Every year it is viewed by over four million people. Because of the way it is shaped, it's virtually impossible to view it from every angle and in its entirety. However, there are many areas within the Grand Canyon where tourists can get a bird's eye view of some very interesting parts. Walhalla Overlook in the Grand Canyon, AZ is one of these interesting areas.
The Walhalla Overlook is one of the most well known overlooks for the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Cape Royal road in the Grand Canyon has many lookout points, but the Walhalla Overlook is the most prominent and well-used points. Tourists, whether hiking or picnicking can view what seems like miles. The Beautiful Unkar Creek is breathtaking to watch from the overlook as well as an old Anasazi ruin. If you don't understand all of what you are viewing, you can always count on the park rangers to explain every detail to you in addition to giving you a great rendition of what the Grand Canyon is all about.
