Great small-town rodeo
This is one of the most loved small-town rodeos by the people who compete in rodeos. The people who put it on, Bob and Peggy Dean, and their committee are the real deal, cowboys and ranchers from way back. It has a very down-home feel, nothing flashy, and highlights the every-day working cowboys competing against each other. The rodeo is in Williams, where the temperatures are cooler, short summer afternoon rainshowers are common, and the night skies are clear and bright. Catch a day at the Grand Canyon, and a day at the rodeo, and you've got the makings for a fun weekend away from the big city.
