Flagstaff Pulliam Airport Open House

Every year in late September, Pulliam Airport in Flagstaff, Arizona holds an open house for the aviation-loving public. The annual event, usually held on a Saturday from 10AM-3PM, welcomes kids and adults alike who want an inside look at their local airport. Visitors can see all kinds of aircraft up close, from commercial jet liners to small 2-passenger Cessnas to Air Force fighter jets. The Experimental Aircraft Association attends as well to show off some of their unique aircraft displays.

This event is free, with free food and beverages provided at the airport. Kids attending the event can learn about piloting careers and about joining the local Young Eagle flight program. Also, all visitors can learn about the recent Flagstaff Airport Runway Extension Program. Engineers and airport personnel talk with visitors about why and how an airport expands its network of runways, and what a crazy undertaking such a project can be.
