Offering a variety of outdoor recreation, Jasper National Park will add some fun and excitement to your British Columbia vacation. This park provides activities for any season. In the warmer months, you can go backpacking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, boating, camping, and more. During the winter, you can engage in activities such as downhill skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and snowshoeing. If you happen to go to this park on a rainy day and don't feel up to a hike in the rain, you can take a drive through the park to see the majestic mountains, canyons, and waterfalls. Also, rafting and horseback riding tours will still go on through rain, so you won't need to change your plans completely.
Jasper has many popular points of interest right in the park including the Pocahontas Mine Site, Maligne Canyon, Mount Edith Cavell, Sunwapta Falls, Medicine Lake, and much more. Probably one of the most popular sites of Jasper National Park, however, are the Miette Hotsprings. The waters flowing from the spring can get as hot as about 54 degrees Celcius (129 degrees Fahrenheit). Some of the water is cooled, chlorinated, and filtered for the park's refreshing swimming pool. Whatever time of year you come to Jasper and in whatever weather, you'll always find some great recreation!
