The Grizzly Bear Refuge in Kicking Horse offers visitors a unique opportunity to see this endangered species at home in the wild. The Grizzly Bear Refuge covers 22 acres. It is the largest protected, enclosed habitat for the grizzly bear in the world, today. It is currently the home of the orphaned bear, Boo. When you join the tour at the on-site Interpretive Centre you will find out all about how a Grizzly bear lives in the wild. Moreover, as part of the tour, you will get to see various aspects of a grizzly's day-to-day existence. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a camera but do not take along any food. Bug spray and a light jacket are also requirements to make this a safe and comfortable experience.
