Mountain Bike Riding
Ascend to the top of Kicking Horse for a thrilling bike ride down the longest lift-accessed descents.
At Kicking Horse Resort, you'll be able to experience all levels of mountain biking adventures - from mild to extreme - on one of the longest mountain descents in the country. Gondola rides are offered to the top of the mountain, and riders can enjoy rides all the way down the 3,700 feet of vertical. The resort offers 27 different trails suited to bikers of all levels, ranging from family-friendly treks to extreme challenges. If you're looking for big thrills, you'll find 8 trails of slick rock, drops, plenty of room for jumps, and race courses. Trails are also offered for those interested in cross country biking and milder bike rides suitable for the whole family.
Mountain Biking Tips
- Make sure that your bike is well-prepared for these extreme trails. For the steep, fast trails, you will want hydraulic brakes, fat tires, and long travel suspension. If you think that your bike doesn't have these things, you can always rent one from the resort.
- You should always wear safety equipment on mountain bike trails. If you don't have any padding or gloves to protect yourself, you can rent this equipment at the resort.
