Great Divide Nature Interpretation in Golden, BC

Great Divide Nature Interpretation offers great ways to learn more about the Canadian Rockies through a variety of interpretative shows about nature and history and a host of exciting hiking trips.

Under the expert guidance of 'Master Interpreters' Nadine Fletcher and Joel Hagen, you can learn a lot more about the stories which are an integral part of the breathtaking scenery of Lake Louise and Banff National Park. Here, you can view birds, animals and processes that you may not have noticed otherwise, thus imbibing a deeper sense of respect and understanding for nature and her miraculous creations. In winter, you can even venture out on a peaceful snowshoe walk amid the snow laden peaks. You can also opt to be a part of the themed hikes which range from flat walks to challenging hikes, so that there's something to suit every age and fitness level.

The hiking season lasts from the 1st of June to the 30th of September every year, while the snowshoe season begins on 27 December and ends on March 31.

You can even watch an interpretative show, hosted by Nadine and Joel themselves. The shows last for approximately 50 minutes with a warm up and a question session, before and after the show. The Great Divide Survival Guide is an informative and entertaining show where you can learn about animals like the mountain goat, the marmot, the pika and the ptarmigan, which are unique to this region. You can even follow the Trail of the Great Bear which introduces you to the fascinating life cycle of the great bear. The shows which are designed for an audience of 50 or less can also be adapted to accommodate up to a 100 people. What's more, you'll even have your hosts dress up as Swiss guides or cook up an edible glacier, while imparting bits of invaluable information you never knew even existed!
